“Blue Daisy ”

Broken saucer plate combined with hand wet felted wool felt with hand needle felt design. The felt has been carefully hand needle felted to the base felt and includes gold hand embroidery stitching along the edges. The design on the felt part is not the same as the original plate design, it has been exaggerated to create a new one-off unique art piece. The piece features an elongated piece of felt to give the impression that the piece has just been dipped in felt. This art piece has been created, designed, and handmade by Alison Hunter.

This wall-mounted art piece is mounted with a D-ring which in turn is secured to the reverse of the felt plate with a timber disc so the makers mark (if marked) is visible. The original plate was found damaged. **Please note that there are 2 marks on the plate part which I could not remove, it is possible it is a mould which is common on old plates and if so the mark may get bigger in time, personally I think this adds to the journey of the plate but others might not agree. I love the pattern on this plate and the colours are just beautiful. The two different textures make the piece very inviting. The concept behind these felt plates is changing the function from broken and damaged plates to wall art pieces preserving old memories while creating new ones. This is a wholly unique piece. Only one of these has been made.
