Abstract textile

Hand needle felted wool fibres.
I have a wonderful collection of Irish tweeds and yarn. Lots of different colours and patterns. So I decided to put them all together using needle felt techiques and using yarn and embroidery threads stitch on top of the tweeds. I’ve explored the combination of beautiful bright colour and textures. Designed, created and handmade in Sligo, Ireland by Alison Hunter

– felt piece approx 9cm diameter
– glass front
– cord on back for hanging
– felt is 100% sheep wool
– most of the wool and tweed used is sourced locally
